MEaP set up the Tackling Racial Injustice Network, a collaboration of African & Caribbean led community groups in Manchester UK) and launched ‘Youth Explosion’ – a series of exciting events designed to inspire and empower young Black people from November 22 to March 2023!
The series kicked off with Elevate Young Mind’s Face Festival in which youths gathered in Manchester (and virtually) from across the globe to participate in dance workshops and UN Debate simulations, culminating in an Award Ceremony celebrating the young people’s achievements in our communities!
Next up -our partner Nurturing Foundations will host a series of employability workshops designed by young people for young people; followed by a Youth Leadership Training Residential organised by T.A.P. (The African Pot Project).
We’d like to thank Young Manchester for the support they have given towards these events adopting recommendations from the TRI report they commissioned (and published in March 2022) written by our Head of Institute at MaCTRI, Dr Ornette D Clennon.
