About Twilight Academy (Online) School
Twilight Academy is our Supplementary School tutoring Maths, English and Sciences GCSE and A’ Levels in preparation for exams. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, we prioritise academic excellence in Global Citizenship, nurturing critical thinkers prepared for the modern international world.
We celebrate and integrate societal, theoretical, and literary contributions from diverse cultures in our teaching. By highlighting the impactful contributions of their heritage, we empower students from all backgrounds to build confidence and positive self-esteem.
When we first started, tuition took place face to face at Manchester Metropolitan University. We called the supplementary school ‘Twilight Academy’ because we would meet on site from 5pm to 7pm (those hours have changed since then). Due to the pandemic, we transitioned to online tuition and have continued this format as it has proven convenient for parents, tutors, and pupils. We now also gather face-to-face for seasonal events.
What Twilight Academy offers
We teach the core subjects at KS4 & KS5 for pupils studying in years 10 -13 (aged 14 to 18).
GCSEs
We offer group tuition for GCSE Maths, English, and Sciences. To maintain quality, we strive to limit groups to no more than 5 – 10 pupils tutored by one teacher (supported by our headteacher) at any given time. Within our group GCSE tuition package pupils can expect to receive 4 hours of tuition a week over two evenings (either on Mondays and Wednesdays or on Tuesdays and Thursdays , 6pm – 8pm) at £10 per hour.
We also offer one-to-one tutoring in these subjects at £35 per hour.
GCSE pupils are also encouraged to participate in our face to face Easter Intensives provision during the Easter holidays where they will participate in mock exams and receive additional coaching in preparation for their final GCSE exams in May and June.
A Levels
We offer one-to-one A Levels tuition in Maths, English, and Sciences. Please note we do not offer A Levels tuition to groups as A Levels students tend to need intense focus on areas specific to their individual needs. Offering a quality impactful service to the individual student is our top priority at £35 per hour.

MEaP Academy Online School and COVID-19
Eliminating the risks of COVID-19 transmission that are present in face-to-face teaching, MEaP Academy Online School allows pupils to follow their own individual learning pathway. Students work through self-study materials at a pace that suits them, studying in small classes with lessons carefully tailored to their needs. Every individual pupil is seen and heard, and no one is left behind. We believe that this approach is also suited those families choosing to homeschool their children.
