July 2024-
End of year celebrations:
End of year celebrations were in fulls swing at multiple supplementary schools. Celebrations included an end of year show from the students at the Greek School of Manchester, made up of confident performances of classic and contemporary poems and songs. A guest performance of “The Seagull” by Nobel Prize winning poet Odysseus Elytis also took place!
End of year party celebrations were also taking place at Hijra School Manchester, where parents, children and staff all got to celebrate their hard work over the year
Developing New Funding Bids Workshop:
A workshop was run in July for Charities, Social Enterprise’s and SME’s working on developing new funding bids by Professor Jennie Shorley from MMU’s Centre for Enterprise, who has over 10 years of experience in developing funded projects for a variety of funders
The afternoon session worked to support participants to develop a funding pipeline, highlighting the importance of impact evaluation, logic models and policy engagement
The short sessions covered:
- Developing a long term funding plan
- Specifying your offer
- Impact measurement, evaluation and planning
August- 2024
Summer Camp-
Bowen Education works to bind Chinese and Western Cultures. They do this in fun ways such as the recent Camp promoting togetherness, healthy eating, sports and more

MEaP, Young Manchester and YPF Trust – NRCSE are thrilled that this journey of collaboration and support for supplementary schools in Manchester has truly began. All participants continue to look forward to the great things we can achieve together for our young people this year!
