Boosting Educational Potential: Join the MEaP Stockport Supplementary School Consultation

Are you a parent or guardian of young children living in or around Stockport? Are you deeply passionate about education and looking for ways to boost the educational potential of your children? If you are seeking targeted, high-quality extra tuition in core curriculum subjects such as Mathematics, English, and the Sciences, an exciting new local initiative is about to launch that could transform your child’s academic journey.

MEaP Academy Community Education Centre is delighted to announce plans to open a brand-new Supplementary School right here in Stockport. To ensure this new educational resource perfectly aligns with the specific needs of local families, a dedicated public consultation and open day event is being held this July.

What is the Stockport Supplementary School Consultation?

Organised by MEaP (Making Education a Priority), this community open day serves as a vital consultation platform. It invites parents, guardians, and education advocates to hear firsthand about the proposed plans for the upcoming supplementary school. More importantly, it gives the local community a direct voice in shaping an after-school provision designed to empower ethnic minority students and young learners across Greater Manchester.

Supported by funding from the National Lottery, the initiative is built upon MEaP’s extensive history of delivering heritage-led, community-relevant learning that enriches mainstream schooling.

Stockport Supplementary School Consultation Event Details: When and Where?

The open day event runs for a duration of two hours, offering plenty of time for families to drop in, speak with experienced educators, and discover what the academy has planned.

  • Date: Thursday, July 11th
  • Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (duration is 2 hours)
  • Location: Highway Hope, 30 Princes Street, Stockport, SK1 1SE (Top Floor)

Why Consider a Supplementary School for Your Child?

Mainstream classrooms face high demands, meaning children sometimes need additional, focused support to truly thrive. Supplementary schools bridge this gap by providing an after-school framework where children build foundational confidence and fluency.

MEaP’s structured curriculum support targets core academic pillars:

  • English Language & English Literature: Strengthening fundamental communication, vocabulary, and grammar, alongside critical analytical skills to foster a lifelong appreciation for literacy.
  • Mathematics: Building robust numeracy skills and intuitive problem-solving abilities through tailored instruction.
  • Combined & Triple Sciences: Demystifying complex principles across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to build a strong analytical foundation for future studies.

Beyond pure academics, MEaP Academy is deeply rooted in heritage- and culturally-aware, community-led education, social justice and holistic tutoring, incorporating complementary aspects and mentoring programmes that cultivate responsible global citizenship and strengthen a child’s confidence.
