National Lottery Funding for YOURS+ SEND Expansion

YOURS+ SEND Expansion – National Lottery Awards for All

🎉 We’ve Been Awarded National Lottery Funding for YOURS+ SEND Expansion!

We’re delighted to share that MEaP has been awarded funding through the National Lottery Awards for All programme (@TNLCommunityFund) to launch YOURS+, an exciting expansion of our Youth Outreach Scheme (YOURS) focused on young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and neurodiversity in Fallowfield, Greater Manchester. These will be dedicated weekend sessions for young people with SEND and neurodiversity in Fallowfield. This funding is made possible by National Lottery players, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support in helping us reach the young people who need it most.

“Our project was made possible thanks to #NationalLottery players” @TNLCommunityFund

About YOURS+ SEND

YOURS+ builds on our proven Youth Outreach Scheme (YOURS), which has already engaged over 2,700 young people since its launch with previous National Lottery Community Fund support. The expansion creates dedicated, adapted provision for young people aged up to 25 with SEND and neurodiversity.

Project Name: Youth Outreach Scheme (YOURS) + SEND Expansion (aka YOURS+)
Location: Fallowfield, Greater Manchester (M14 6LP)
Project Duration: March 2026 – February 2027 (12 months)
Funder: The National Lottery Community Fund — Awards for All
Total Project Budget: £19,800
Young People Supported: 75 directly (plus families and community)

What the project delivers

  • Six hours of weekly, person-centred weekend sessions
  • Life skills workshops focused on communication, emotional regulation and problem-solving
  • Creative and therapeutic movement sessions
  • Community engagement activities and outings
  • A safe, structured, and culturally competent environment co-designed with young people and their families

Who we aim to reach

Over twelve months, YOURS+ aims to directly support 75 young people, with a particular focus on those:

  • With Special Educational Needs and Disabilities or neurodiversity
  • At risk of social exclusion or anti-social behaviour
  • Not in education, employment or training (NEET)
  • Facing barriers to accessing mainstream provision
  • And their families and carers

Why YOURS+SEND Matters

Young people with SEND and neurodiversity are disproportionately affected by social isolation, exclusion from mainstream activities, and poor mental health outcomes. Yet too often, existing services fail to meet their social, emotional and developmental needs.

At our SEND Action Networking Event in September 2025, parents, educators, safeguarding practitioners and young people told us directly: they needed inclusive, culturally competent activities in small, safe groups — where participants can build real skills in a nurturing environment.
YOURS+ is our response. By offering early-intervention support during peak hours, we help reduce the risk of exclusion, strengthen community connections, and equip young people with the tools they need to thrive.
