Community Lead: Social inclusion and Family Mediation Specialist
Mr Henry Ngawoofah has over 23 years experience in the coluntary community social sector. His work focuses on social inclusion and social justice, family mediation, education, fundraising, supporting young people to engage in their community, and the empowerment of African and Caribbean heritage communities. By leveraging his deep local roots, he has spent decades developing grassroots initiatives that address systemic inequalities and provide sustainable support systems for marginalised groups, ensuring that community voices are heard in local governance and urban development.
Henry was awarded the Community Partnerships Certificate (2023) by MSSP for his contribution to community-led education and volunteering. He helped securing the Manchester City Council ‘Higher Award’ for Quality Standards in Safeguarding. His extensive experience has him sitting on the board of multiple organisations, including MEaP, G.I.F.T., Just Psychology and PthFndr.

Mr Henry Ngawoofah leads strategic efforts to bridge the skills gap for young people and adults. Henry has a track record of deploying capacity building programmes to help organisations to achieve nationally recognised accreditations, kite marks and quality assurance systems. He is also behind the success of MEaP’s career events. Henry leads our enterprise initiatives and liaises with our internship partners (e.g., MMU, University of Manchester), our collaborators (e.g., Ingeus), and funding partners (e.g., WEA, Youth Futures Foundation).

Key achievements include setting up an Open Awards Accreditation Training Centre, Supplementary School and lifelong learning service, Mentoring and Mediation Service. Henry has developed an accredited Business Enterprise Employability training (BEET) programme which supports those who are long-term unemployed to employment and self-employment. Henry continues to develop professionally and academically currently undertaking his Masters in Teaching and Learning at the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Henry has a track record of designing capacity building programmes to help organisations to achieve nationally recognised accreditation, kite marks and quality assurance systems. Key achievements includes successfully securing substantial funding bids on behalf of most if not all of MEaP’s Education and Social Enterprise programmes, to access statutory, trusts, Lottery and European funding.
His influence extends to various other organisations, including Pathfndr, where he contributes to initiatives that improve digital literacy and career pathways. Through these diverse roles, he acts as a consultant and facilitator, connecting community-led businesses with larger institutional partners to create a more equitable economic landscape in the North West.

Mr Henry Ngawoofah is the co-founder and chair of Grace Incorporation Faith Trust (GIFT) an over 23 years years old transformative faith-based service focusing on its community’s main pain points, including social inclusion, family mediation and support, and digital exclusion. His decades of experience and service have allowed him to build some extensive strategic partnerships and utilise resources to support local people into education, employment and self-employment, or out of issues.
