Our MEaP director Dr Esther Oludipe has been shortlisted for FutureEd Awards 2023

Dr Esther Oludipe has been shortlisted for the Black Supplementary School Leader of the Year Award for her leadership at her organisation Highway Hope. Highway Hope is a social enterprise that transforms, empowers and supports local residents within Levenshulme, Longsight and Gorton through a range multi-purpose cultural, social and learning activities.

Our MEaP director Mrs Jumoke Quadiri has been shortlisted for FutureEd Awards 2023

Mrs Jumoke Quadri is shortlisted for the Parent Support Champion Award. Nurturing Foundations have a vision for the future where individuals especially young people in Greater Manchester have the aspirations, resilience, and skills to flourish and the confidence to play an active role in civic life. Jumoke believes in supporting families to create a solid foundation for young people to grow from.

What is FutureEd?

FutureEd is a UK-based social enterprise organization dedicated to championing equity, diversity, and inclusion in education, particularly for Black, African, and Caribbean (BAC) heritage communities. Through a variety of initiatives, FutureEd aims to create a more equitable and inclusive education system that empowers students of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.

Future Ed’s Vision and Mission

FutureEd’s vision is to create a society where all children from BAC heritage communities have equal access to quality education, regardless of their background or socioeconomic circumstances. Their mission is to achieve this vision by:

  •  Advocating for policy change that promotes equity and inclusion in education
  • Developing and supporting educational programs that meet the specific needs of BAC students
  • Recognizing and celebrating excellence in education
  • Building a strong network of educators, parents, and community members who are committed to improving education for all children

FutureEd Awards 2023 and categories

FutureEd Awards are an annual event that celebrates and rewards the achievements of individuals and organizations working to improve education for BAC heritage communities. As per previous years, FutureEd Awards 2023 recognises excellence in teaching, leadership, mentoring, coaching, and supporting the delivery of education. The awards also recognize allied organizations that supply schools or support parents and children. The FutureEd Awards 2023 includes the following categories:
