Content Creator Volunteer Intern
Organisation: Making Education a Priority (MEaP)
Role Duration: 1-2 days/week for 4 weeks
Role Overview
The volunteer intern will contribute to MEaP’s communication and outreach efforts by creating engaging content. This role involves research, writing, and editing to produce high-quality blog posts, articles, and social media content.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop compelling content ideas aligned with MEaP’s mission and target audience.
- Write and edit blog posts and articles on education-related topics.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility.
- Assist with social media content creation and management.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to conduct research and gather information.
- Basic understanding of SEO and content marketing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interest in education and communications.
Learning Outcomes
- Gain practical experience in content creation and digital marketing.
- Gain digital skills and experience with the help of a managing coach

Volunteer Intern: Bid Writing and Sustainability
Organisation: Making Education a Priority (MEaP)
Role Duration: 2 days/week for 6 weeks
Role Overview
The volunteer intern will play a crucial role in supporting MEaP’s financial sustainability by identifying diverse income streams and developing compelling bid proposals. The intern will contribute to research, writing, and administrative tasks to secure funding and strengthen the organization’s financial position.
Key Responsibilities
- Research:
- Identify potential funding sources aligned with MEaP’s strategic priorities, such as early years education, youth development, or teacher training.
- Conduct in-depth research on specific grant programs focusing on areas like school improvement, digital learning, or social inclusion.
- Develop a database of potential funders, including contact information and grant guidelines.
- Bid Writing:
- Assist in crafting compelling bid narratives that highlight MEaP’s impact and demonstrate alignment with funder priorities.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data, stories, and evidence of program effectiveness for inclusion in proposals.
- Develop budget templates and financial projections for proposed projects.
- Ensure adherence to funder guidelines and submission requirements.
- Sustainability:
- Support the development of a sustainable income generation strategy by exploring partnership opportunities with businesses, foundations, and government agencies.
- Assist in creating a fundraising calendar outlining key proposal deadlines and fundraising events.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising materials, such as donor appeals and thank-you letters.

Organisation: Making Education a Priority (MEaP)
Role Duration: 2 days/week for 6 weeks
Role Overview
The volunteer intern will provide essential support to MEaP’s IT and digital transformation initiatives. The role will involve a combination of technical skills and project management support. The intern will contribute to maintaining existing software, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and supporting the overall efficiency of the organization through effective project management.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support:
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting existing software applications.
- Provide basic IT support to staff, including hardware and software issues.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal IT documentation.
Digital Transformation:
- Support the exploration of new digital tools and technologies to improve organizational efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of digital strategies.
- Contribute to the digitization of existing processes and workflows.
Cybersecurity:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity measures.
- Assist in identifying potential security risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to employee cybersecurity awareness training.
Project Management:
- Provide support to project managers on ongoing initiatives.
- Assist in creating project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation.
