Family Mediation

About

GIFT works in partnership with MEaP to deliver targeted family support to children and young people at risk of school exclusion. Our programme is designed to wrap around families, providing the right support at the right time so that every child can thrive in education and beyond.

We offer a holistic, community-based approach that connects families with practical help, advocacy, and specialist guidance. Whether your child is struggling in school, has additional needs, or has experienced exclusion, our team is here to walk alongside you.

Who we support

Our programme works with children and young people aged 5-16, and their families. We have particular experience supporting families from Caribbean, Irish, and Roma Traveller backgrounds, and families where children have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We support families where children or young people are:

  • At risk of, or experiencing, school exclusion (temporary or permanent)
  • Struggling with behaviour in school or at home
  • In need of an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan or SEND support
  • Transitioning back into mainstream education
  • Experiencing difficulties with attendance or academic engagement

Family Support – Donations

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculm delivers all the key requirements expected by any parents or the commisionnier. Our EYFS provision follows the Reggio Emilia approach to child-centred learning, that promotes the natural curiosity of the child as the main driver for learning. We carefully integrate the following areas of learning in as organic and child-centred way as possible:

It was nice to do the lesson in person because I made a friend with someone here as its hard to socialise in lessons online. I think it would better if the tests were more spread out because they were tiring. – Debbie O. – About Twilight Academy Easter Intensives 2025
