Young people from the UK and Brazil have come together to discuss their futures in their respective countries with a view towards building intercontinental alliances with each other.

Event dates: September 3 2020 and November 9 2020

Young people from the UK and Brazil have come together to discuss their futures in their respective countries with a view towards building intercontinental alliances with each other. The meetings will provide an opportunity to reflect on ways that young people in Brazil and the UK might, in partnership with the Federal University of the Amazon (Brazil), MEaP Academy Community Education Centre and The KORI Youth Charity (UK) pursue strategies of building support and social action in their respective countries.

Dr Ornette D Clennon, one of the organisers said,

It is really important that we equip the youth from our grassroots community organisations with a global citizenship framework of learning that will better enable them to work and organize themselves, especially in this global era of #BlackLivesMatter“. Dr Clennon feels that sessions like these are important for young people to demonstrate solidarity with each other as they share with each other ways to move forward with their collective and individual ambitions in their countries.

These are the first of three meetings that will form a series of international meetings that will see young people from The Gambia join their counterparts from Brazil and the UK.

Our third meeting with Gambian young people.

Here is an update on our work so far….
