Join us at 2026 Parktastic! Free Outdoor Play Sessions at Platt Fields Park

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Manchester City Council has funded MEaP to deliver Parktastic!

This summer, Making Education a Priority (MEaP) is bringing free, high-energy, and completely inclusive outdoor play right to the heart of Platt Fields Park. If you are looking for a safe, welcoming, and vibrant space where your children can run wild, get creative, and make new friends, Parktastic is the place to be. These sessions are totally free, open-access, and designed for children, young people, and families of all ages and abilities.

📅 When: Every Wednesday night, for 14 weeks, starting 17 June 2026, ending 18 September 2026
⏰ Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Location: Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield, Manchester
🎉 Special Event: Put a massive circle around Wednesday 5th August 2026—we are hosting a huge celebration for National Play Day!

What is Happening at our 2026 Parktastic?

Our sessions are firmly rooted in child-led play, giving young people the freedom to choose exactly how they want to explore, build, and interact. Delivered by our fantastic team of fully trained play workers, every week features a brilliant mix of activities:

🛠️ Loose Parts Play & Den Building: Unleash your inner engineer by building forts, structures, and spaces using various shapes, objects, and textures.
🌳 Nature & Sensory Activities: Connect with the natural environment of the park through hands-on exploration.
🎨 Arts, Crafts & Parachute Games: Get creative with paints and materials, or jump into our massive, collaborative parachute games.
⚽ Outdoor Games & Sports: High-energy team games and sports drills to keep everyone moving and laughing.
🍎 Healthy Snacks & Drinks: We keep the energy levels high by providing free, healthy refreshments for the kids at every session.
