2026 Future Focus: 3-Day Youth Event (Breakout , EIA)

Breakout Charity’s 2026 Future Focus 3-Day Youth Event
Breakout Charity and Making Education a Priority (MEaP) are thrilled to share 2026 Future Focus, a special three-day youth event, running from Monday 6th of July 2026 to Wednesday 8th July 2026.
While Breakout Charity regularly runs these highly successful short youth interventions, this particular three-day event represents a bespoke, high-impact collaboration as a core delivery under MEaP’s Evidence in Action (EIA) programme. Funded by the Youth Futures Foundation (YFF), our EIA initiative focuses on dismantling systemic barriers and co-producing sustainable, inclusive employment and skills pathways for young people aged 16 to 24 across Greater Manchester.

Inside the 2026 Future Focus 3-Day Journey
This intensive hub integrates Breakout’s practical, direct approach into the MEaP EIA framework, ensuring young people receive targeted, meaningful support rather than generic advice. Over the course of the three days, participants are progressing through a structured curriculum designed to build lasting professional confidence:
Day One: Building the Foundations
True progress starts with self-awareness rather than just rewriting a CV. On the first day, the focus is entirely on helping young people recognise how they present themselves to the world. Participants explore their personal strengths, identify the systemic or personal obstacles that have been holding them back, and map out positive strategies to move forward.
Day Two: Demystifying Employability
The second day shifts the perspective entirely toward the job market, removing the guesswork often associated with applications. Young people learn exactly what modern employers look for by interacting with them directly. This real-world interaction allows participants to gain clarity on industry expectations and refine their interview and communication skills based on genuine professional feedback.
Day Three: Stepping into the Real World
The final day is all about practical application and sustainability. Participants take everything they have discovered over the previous 48 hours and transform it into an actionable plan. The focus is on ensuring every young person leaves the intensive with a defined, realistic next step and the confidence to pursue it.

Future Focus in EIA: Gathering the Evidence for Systemic Change
What makes this week’s 3-day programme so vital is its alignment with the overall mission of Evidence in Action. Rather than offering a short-term fix, the activities, responses, and creative solutions proposed by the young people are actively documented. This helps us build a robust, qualitative evidence base designed to inform future, larger-scale youth employment frameworks across the region.
By centering the lived experiences and distinct cultural backgrounds of our participants, MEaP and Breakout Charity are proving that an asset-based, peer-led approach is the most effective way to foster genuine community cohesion and career progression.

Next Steps for Our 2026 Future Focus Participants
As we wrap up the final sessions on Wednesday 8 July, the journey does not stop here. All young people completing the three-day intensive will be seamlessly connected to MEaP’s wider wrap-around support services. This includes one-to-one mapping with experienced community practitioners to design bespoke personal development plans, access to upcoming Manchester Employability Days, and direct routes into our specialized tech, digital, and creative training paths.
A massive thank you to the brilliant team at Breakout Charity for collaborating with us this week, and to all the inspiring young people who have brought their focus, energy, and imagination to the sessions.
